Unfortunately, there is no good news....not even for Christmas Day!!
Had it have been cold enough, it would have bought lots of snow, however instead it bought torrential rain....all through the night, finishing around 5am...
At the very top (Markudjik slopes) it snowed slightly, but only a few cm's - not enough to make any major difference but it's s start!!
Yastrebets slopes are still in 'good' condition, however Rila slopes are not great... ...
Morning All & Happy Christmas....!!

Martinovi 2 on the Rila side is in very poor condition (black / grass patches showing through). The 3 nursery slopes aren't much better and this morning it is very very icy. For those arriving tomorrow it is not a great picture unless any snow falls, although there is currently black clouds hovering above the resort and anything significant will most likely be rain and not snow.
It is a totally different picture to a week ago, when at least there was snow on the way up from Samakov - that has now all melted away....
I hate giving bad news, but we may need to think of extra-curricular activities for tomorrow's arrivals...
re: Borovets Conditions / Lift Update - 25th December
Thanks Ian - head's are pretty sore from last night but we're surviving!! He has a lesson today with total beginners, but it's difficult to stay upright even with normal shoes on, let alone for the beginners on the ice...
You probably know they do mountain biking here in the Summer - we may be cycling down the Mussala pathway rather than skiing.....!!!

re: Borovets Conditions / Lift Update - 25th December
We were in Borovets for new year last year when there was no snow. Looks horribly like a repeat this year unless there is a minor miracle. We still had a great time even without the snow. My advice would be to think carefully before ordering or paying for a lift pass unless there is guaranteed snow.
