Borovets Lift pass and general first time questions

Hello everyone,

Me and two other first time snowboarders are going to Borovets in January 2013 for two weeks just had a few questions hopefully someone can shed a little light for me.

We've been told Ski pass is included with our beginner package. Is this limited to certain times in the day? I know we get lessons for 2hrs a day 6 days a week but after that can we just board and use lifts as much as we want? Or do we need several passes for different times? Can we use the slopes at ...

If anyone has any good advice for a total beginner i'd love to hear it.

Thanks for reading,
Alex

re: Borovets Lift pass and general first time questions

Hi Alex, I know that last year some of the beginner packages had passes that were limited to certain lifts but they are not limited to particular times of the day, apart from night skiing/ boarding. You have to buy seperate passes for that on a daily basis. As you will have seen from this board there is a big group gathering on 26th Jan at Bobby's Bar, if you are going to be there then, join the gang! If last year is anything to go by, you will have a brilliant time with a mixture of all ...

There are planty of people here on the forum who will help you out with anything you need to know about Boro. Have a great holiday!

re: Borovets Lift pass and general first time questions

Hi Alex,

As per Jo's post, the beginner package does not inlcude all lifts and if you try to get on them with a beginner pass, the lift operator will turn you away. Bascially, a beginner pass just covers beginner lifts so for example, you are not allowed on Markudjik 2 or 3 plus others. If you upgrade in the resort it is much more expensive, so your best option is to upgrade to a normal pack now and pay the difference to your tour operator as there'll be nothing more frustrating than ...

The evening pass last year (from 5pm onwards) was 22lev which you can purchase nightly and buy the pass from the ticket office next to the Rila 4 man chair - which is the only lift open in the evenings.

We know quite a few people coming out the second week you are out (19th Jan) so I'm sure there will be lots of pople for you to meet up and there's loads of great places to eat / drink.

Give us a shout if you need any more info!

Kas

re: Borovets Lift pass and general first time questions

Hi ya Alex,

No probs - you just need to buy a normal / full ski package, not a beginners package...
