Borovets Power Cuts

Was out in Boro for the new year & experienced quite a few power cuts due to the 29 th Jan heavy snowfall, Our instructor informed us whilst we were stuck at the top of the mountain for three hrs, that TOTAL power failures to the town are very uncommon.

Can anyone update me on whats been happening since I left Boro on the 3rd Jan.

PS, We had a great time out there with & without electricity & will be back next year.

power cuts make part of the charm some how, i was there same time as you , sitting in a bar drinking by candle light,

Was on the pub crawl on our first nite there, 2 years ago, complete power cut in the town for an hour, maybe two. Was great, the bars offered free drinks to keep people in.

How can you be stuck at the TOP of the mountain with no power???

You could always ski / board down to the bottom!!!!

yes one could ski down if all the runs were open & were good enough to do so, but believe me the only people who were sking down were the instructors & they had to walk from the bottom of the drag lifts up to the Gondala which was approx 1 hr walkclimb for the average bod !

Went to Boro on the 29th Jan and it snowed all week. Absolutely brilliant holiday, just wish I could go back before the end of the season. Will have to count the dates till next year! Had no power cuts (that I know of) But what an excuse to stay up all night drinking, because you cant see your way to get to bed!!.

Only approx 350 days to go.
