Just received this report from Martin who has just got back from Borovets and thought others might like to have a look. It's looking good folks!!!!!

We got back this afternoon & to say i`m gutted is an under statement.
What a week! This is how the week panned out weather wise, Sat heavy snow,Sun foggy,Mon wall to wall sunshine Tue snow all day, Wed wall to wall sunshine Thurs started to snow PM stopped just as I dropped my little one ...

We got back this afternoon & to say i`m gutted is an under statement.
What a week! This is how the week panned out weather wise, Sat heavy snow,Sun foggy,Mon wall to wall sunshine Tue snow all day, Wed wall to wall sunshine Thurs started to snow PM stopped just as I dropped my little one off at ski school Friday.
The freeze thaw conditions do lead to some icy patches on the steep reds & blacks, however there are so many good chalenging runs that it didnt realy bother me too much(any way my instructor told me to forget about the ice, relax & slid past them).
We stayed in the Rila & you can`t possibly get a hotel any closer to the ski school unless they have one in the hotel lobby.
We found the hotel food a bit hit & miss (freshly cooked pancackes in the morning were a big hit with the kids) though the one night they cooked fresh piza while you waited.
Piste`s higher up are in good nick with the blue & reds off the new 4 man chair being the best ( in my view ).
As long as the gondola is open with all the snow they`ve had in the last two weeks you`ll have a great time, the runs up the top are great. A good tip though is to ski back to the bottom of the 4 man chair below the gondola & catch a taxi back it save a fair bit of walking at the end of the day & for 10 lev`s is a bargain. I`m sure the snow will be fine as there is more snow forcast for next week.

Just got back from Borovets yesterday! What a great week! Brilliant weather all week, such a great resort.
My first time skiing & I'm totally battered, but was well worth the aches & pains. Highly recommend my ski instructor Paul, brilliant guy, so patient & funny.
Night life is amazing, so many bars... Happy Duck is so much fun, live music, dancing on tables, cocktails & shooters!
For day time relaxing & great hot chocolate I'd recommend Kopoha's infront of the Rila Hotel & opposite ...
