After the Kindergarten has finished do the Children have to hand back their equipment or do allow you to keep ski & boots so they go on the slopes with parents?? Do they actually get a ski lift pass? Also Grandma is coming who is a non-skier,can she get a reduced rate walkers lift pass to get her around the mountain??

re: Borovets Ski kindergarten

my 2 (4 and 7) were at the kindergarten in January. It's based in the Rila (in the basement, near the Rila 1 depot, to the far left of the hotel as you look at it from the Rila slope)

hours are 8.30am to 4.30am (in practice this means drop off by 10am, and they tend to want you back by 4pm).

They get the opportunity to do 2 hours a day - 1 in the morning (compulsory) and 1 in the afternoon (optional). This consists of time in the Boro kids area, where there is a small magic carpet lift ...

They get the opportunity to do 2 hours a day - 1 in the morning (compulsory) and 1 in the afternoon (optional). This consists of time in the Boro kids area, where there is a small magic carpet lift, and a shallow downhill (about 10 meters or so length). My two both learned snowplough during the course of the week, but nothing else. they both want to learn properly now (and go out on the real pistes)!

The kindergarten is ok, if you are happy with it including a big dollop of TV (my 2 loved it as there was tom and jerry on tap). staff were lovely with my kids, and patient too.

they get ski equipment included, we took them out on our last day and borrowed the equipment, they didn't mind as long as you brought it back

there was no ski pass in the package we had

not quite sure about their grandma - i think you can buy a non-ski return trip on the gondola to get up the mountain.

re: Borovets Ski kindergarten

My 4 year old at the time had a week in there two years ago. I pretty much agree with what Jonathan has said. The little area that he talks about is private only for that Kindergarten which is run by Borosports who run the resort. It was my son's second ski trip. Tears on the 1st morning but then loved it. We went during half term so the place was full of kids. It's right in the bowels of the Rila Hotel with a sign in and sign out system with plenty of adult supervision so certainly gives ...

We went during half term so the place was full of kids. It's right in the bowels of the Rila Hotel with a sign in and sign out system with plenty of adult supervision so certainly gives the impression of being secure. If you are in the right place at the right time you'll get to see your little one on skiis too. Another point is that everything is included in the price inc food.
