Borovets Update

Hello all, we arrived in Borovets on the 17th and just thought i'd update everyone.
The snow started falling in Borovets itself last night and has continued through today (it's not very clear on the web cam pics) there's not enough on the lowers slopes but the gondola has been running since saturday and theres plenty of skiing to be had at the top. Today the 4 man chair Sitnyakovo express has been running so theres access to the small blue slope and nursery area at the top.

There are'nt that many changes in the resort although there is new signage on the runs. 101 Cocktails is no more and is replaced with Chilli peppers. Most of the bars now have Stella and Caffereys on draught ! The Royal Plaza has been finished with the shops below kitted out and the Flora residence looks like its ready as well.
The official opening of the ski season takes place at 11.30 on saturday with ski show etc. (conditions permitting I guess !)
The fog at sofia airport has been causing major problems with many flights re-directed to Plodiv. We managed to land in Sofia on sunday but our luggage didn't get here until today so I would reccomend your resort address is clearly displayed on cases and equipment.

YEAY!! I'll be swishing down the slopes in one week, from 27 December to 8 January ... and then back for some more on 24 february... knew the snow would come eventually!!
