On my second day in Borovets and the weather is great. Snowed heavily last night and on/off today. There is plenty of the white stuff around, though it has been a bit windy with the gondola shut yesterday. now off for a beer or two!!
If you look at a piste map, the Boro runs are kind of split in half.
The gondola serves the right 'half' so if its shut, everyone skis on the left 'half' (in front of the Hotel Rila) which makes this bit seem twice as busy.
Sometimes the Gondola only works halfway (because of winds at the top) so you can go halfway up the right hand side and ski down the runs that take you back to the bottom.
Gondola normally stays open to halfway. If it does get of there and go across the little track to the right it is only a short walh of 100 yds or so . Then you can ski all the Yastrabeets runs by using the four man lift on that side. when you are done you can ski from the top of the 4 man down to half way and catch the gondola down or ski to the bottom and get a taxi back. Only 10 levs for 4 people. These runs tend not to be as crowded
