Hi Guys,
Need some advice please..
Am off to Borovets on th27th for the first time and was just planning on taking my Nationwide visa to draw cash out as and whe n required, as the card is free to use abroad. The only thing is someone commented to me that Borovets may not have any cash machines accepting international cards.
I've never had any problems finding cash machines on holiday before but am unsure about the infrastructure.
Has anyone been and if so do I need to draw out the cash before I go or will I be ok with my visa?
I take it you mean the visa debit card? There at at least two cash machines that accept international cards, one just along from the Rila Hotel by the nursery slopes and another on the main road opposite the turning for the gondola. Used both in Feb with English debit cards and worked fine!
Hi,
btw - we've been to Boro about 6 or 7 times now, and yes there can be a problem with the cash machines, the problem is that the link between the UK and Borovets just stops working (darn computers), so other nations are fine and the English have no money
Most of the time they are fine, and plenty to use, but if you end up with this problem then try the bank under the Samakov hotel (you won't be able to miss it) it's saved our New year many times.
Enjoy!
