Borovets and hotel lion

Hi, flying out on 4th jan. As many of you have stated the conditions in borovets are incredibly poor and many areas aren't available. Is this likely to 'ruin' my holiday? For example is there enough piste to ski for a week without doing the same runs over and over again throughout a day?Also has anyone any personal review of hotel lion? Is there ski and boot storage?

You should be OK during your week snow looks likely, conditions are not uncommon for this time of year as Jan has always produced good snow fall in previous years. You may find you will do the same runs for the first couple of days. Hotel Lion in the past has had some bad reviews but I have heard recently things have got much better. Most Hotels have storage, what I would say is the Hotel is in the old village so it's a trudge to the slopes. Hope this helps.

If you use bobbys bar as a regular haunt you can leave your skis and boots there all week meaning you don't have to haul them in to the village all the time. Its what we all do and you can have a relaxing coffee or full breakfast while getting your gear on in a nice atmosphere. Also we meet up there in the morning before heading out and all are welcome..dbut

Hi Tom , we stayed at the Lion hotel a couple of years ago and found it really good , there is ski storage .It is a bit of a jaunt from the slopes but there's a free shuttle bus every half an hour or so that's reliable , it's clean comfortable and warm , got a nice pool , table tennis and a gym ( that's a bit dodgy) as for the food we were only B and B but the breakfast was good .the last two times in Borovets we've stayed near the village which is full of great bars and restaurants ,can't ...
