Hi.
I have been reading a bit about recent poor snow history in Borovets and was wondering how snow sure the resort is by mid feb. Would it be likely, for instance that some of the runs would be closed, or would you expect them all to be open in feb even during a poor season, snow wise.
Also, I would like to know what to expect in terms of half term queues for ski lifts (we are very good intermediate skiers/ boarders with a couple of snow plough turning kids, so would be away from the ...
Hi.
I have been reading a bit about recent poor snow history in Borovets and was wondering how snow sure the resort is by mid feb. Would it be likely, for instance that some of the runs would be closed, or would you expect them all to be open in feb even during a poor season, snow wise.
Also, I would like to know what to expect in terms of half term queues for ski lifts (we are very good intermediate skiers/ boarders with a couple of snow plough turning kids, so would be away from the nursery slopes, I hope).
I often go to Borovets during half term and will be going out again on the 11th Feb this year. I've been going there for ten years and from memory only last season were the conditions a bit iffy however most of the runs still had enough to keep people occupied due to the snow cannons. As for queues, it does depend on the conditions a bit as poor conditions low down could result in more using the Gondola but there are taxis or taxi buses to the expressway so you can bypass them ...
Hi Sophia
I often go to Borovets during half term and will be going out again on the 11th Feb this year. I've been going there for ten years and from memory only last season were the conditions a bit iffy however most of the runs still had enough to keep people occupied due to the snow cannons. As for queues, it does depend on the conditions a bit as poor conditions low down could result in more using the Gondola but there are taxis or taxi buses to the expressway so you can bypass them if you wish. Alternatively get to the Gondola by 9.20 and you will beat most of the queue.
You know what, I'm not fussy, as long as there is enough snow to keep the runs open and the ski school for the kids is ok, and the queues arent craaaazy, i'll be delighted, esp as i love a good bargain
And looking at your earlier posts you are staying at the Flora and using Hunters we will almost certainly bump into each other. I have booked the whole family into various classes with Hunters. There will be enough snow and if the kids fancy a bit of bum boarding or sledging as some of the runs are floodlit it helps keeps the kids amused in the evening. You can hire good sledges or buy bumboards for not much and a lot of the shops will buy them back off you at the end of the week if they are ...

You can hire good sledges or buy bumboards for not much and a lot of the shops will buy them back off you at the end of the week if they are not broken. And don't worry about the strip clubs, you won't really notice them although there are one or two opposite the Flora, that side of things is a lot less obvious than it was about 10 years ago.
We are also going in half term, fly on the 11th and staying in Flora! We have been every year for the last 6 years I think - you will have a great time. See you there!
My wife , son of 9 and I are also out at half term staying in the Royal plaza apartments. We are also lucky enough to be out the week before staying in the Four Seasons in Samokov.Hope to see you all out there .
