comments on Borovets, very sleazy,staff at our hotel (LION) unfriendly and offhand ,yes it's cheap but very limited skiing and when conditions are bad it really shows, I won't be going back and neither will anyone I spoke to.re: Borovets just back
got back on Saturday 25/02 - 16 of us stayed at the Rila.
Had a fab time - hotel clean and warm / food not brill but ok. Eat out 2 or 3 times (v.cheap) - can recommend The Titanic - 50yds to the left of ski depot.
With regards the skiing - I havent got anything to compare it too as this was our first time - but we thought it was great.

Also Just back, Samakov = Basic/warm/friendly/Food OK
getting very sleazy in resort, now losing its quaint appeal, annoying hawkers.
When snow bad, very bad, when its good they bash too early in the night so it freezes solid by the morning!
Wont be going back to Boro, Sorry but its lost a lot of appeal now.
And prices in Mamacitas F*********L, should I be shocked by UK prices in Bulgaria!
p.s. Any boarders going out soon, look for the kickers near the bottom of the black off ...
