If all the people who are thinking of cancelling their trip to Borovets next week do ! then those that don't should have a great weeks skiing ( albeit on limited runs) and there shouldn't be any queues on the lifts !! I remember about 4 years ago when it was 12-15 degrees c on the Rila thermometer all week , admittedly there was a good base up top to ski on ,but I'm sure those that do go will still have great time
It seems to me like borovets has some kind of mystical hold on people , even if there was only one nursery slope open people would still post on here that they have had the best ever weeks skiing and what amazing value bulgaria is.
The facts are if you've booked to go half term week with the family then it will cost too much to cancel at this stage so most people who have booked will go meaning the resort will be very busy , the rila slopes will be hammered and dangerously crowded and ...

The facts are if you've booked to go half term week with the family then it will cost too much to cancel at this stage so most people who have booked will go meaning the resort will be very busy , the rila slopes will be hammered and dangerously crowded and chopped up by lunchtime , the one yastrebets run that is open will be the same with big queues for the lift .
I have noticed a few brave people skiing the sitnyakovo blue on the webcam but its not been bashed and you can see how thin the snow cover is on there , even up on top people are trying to ski but again the cover is so thin you can see the paths showing through .
There is no snow forecast for the foreseeable future and temps are due to rise so conditions can only get worse .
What you have to careful of on these sites and forums in general are the people who post on here can have a vested interest in you not cancelling your holiday , they might own property or bars in borovets or be friends of people who do , there is also a lot of blind optimism and head in the sand type people who just refuse to accept that the most important thing about a ski holiday is the skiing .
If at all possible i would use the flights to sofia that will be booked and then try to negotiate on transfers / accomodation with the tour company / agent . Bansko will be decent skiing but at half term you wil have to drag your carcass out of bed early or stand in a queue for 2 hours. I've never been to pamporovo but that seems like a better option too most runs open .
Just be careful what you choose to believe on here and other forums , even the weather forecasts seem to be doctored to promise snow .
The way I look at it is half a days skiing is better than a days working!!
Of course I'd like perfect conditions or even better than we're likely to get!!
but there's no point stressing about it as some people on here seem to be!!
I'm just looking to getting away kicking back and chilling out for a week .
Thats your choice del , very expensive way to relax though , even if the pistes are ok first thing they will be so busy it will take all the fun out of it .
Yes John totally agree, but still a little cheaper than trying to alter things at this late stage or cancelling as some people are contemplating and are likely to lose the lot ! If they have booked a package I believe they'll struggle to change at this late stage anyway !
