Are there any ski shops that hire quality skis in Borovets that anyone can reccomend?re: Borovets quality ski hire?
the stuff is not brill. Go in a few. no where particular hope you find one where their hire stuff ie relatively newre: Borovets quality ski hire?
I found reasonable skis at the Rossignol shop below the hotel Ela (opposite Samarkov); the salomon shop near the crossroads by the gondola; and the continental shop half way up the main drag near the ice rink. They are not great but were freshly waxed and edges sharpened - cost 20 lev per day. The equipment in the main ski hire depots was disgraceful and far more expensive.Good Luck.

I would be very very careful. A shop tried to charge me £200 for a pair of snowblades I could get in UK for £150, they weren't even this years design. My friend got ripped off paying £20 more for a pair of boots than the UK price. The shop was called Snow Powder I think, avoid it at all cost.
Maybe I was unlucky but all the shops I tried looking for major brand name equipment had old stock and were trying to charge current UK prices. So make sure you know the current spec and UK price ...

I bought good boots from Rossignol shop under hotel Ela. Instructor George went with me and helped out. Cost about £90 and would have been about £150 here. However pal bought some at another shop and is not happy with them and has spent summer trying to get them re-fitted.

If you have fairly average feet and don't want anything special there are some bargains to had but, as previous post, make sure you have a look at some here before you go and buy early in holiday so you have chance to try them out!!
