Borovets ski conditions today

First day opening of season in Boro.
Very thick queues everywhere from the start due to free lift pass.
Gondola was working but on top part-markudjik runs were closed due to very limited amount of snow.
The upper slopes look in need of a hell of a lot. More
The first part from the gondola down is like rocky river.
no wonder there were only one or two ski hire places willing to open on this bad day for ski and snowboard gear.

Once you reach the top of the Yastrebets express things get better.
Because of the artificial snow.
To be fair the slopes are better than last year the same day when everywhere was green.
So very heavy queue on the fast express.
Once you move to the martinovi baraki and sitniakovo the slopes are in perfect shape with few exceptions.
There was an modest opening in front of rila hotel and from 7.30 a free niht skiing which was the besr part ot the day.slopes done.a bit heavy with thousands of skiers from BG but good runs.
One bad point for Borovets today- Yastrebets express stopped for 80 minutes because of a fault on the brakes and few frozen souls unlucky to be up in the air got very angry.
The weather tonight is warmer to a zero and maybe snow is on the way.
Few tips:
The english speaking tourists try Sunny just below Ela hotel and next to black kat at the bottom of Cherveno zname(that run was the best today)
Both plces run by very wpro active group with workers from Australia New Zealand and beyond here to have fun and work at the same time so sems very good company.some of them being instructors down under.
Plenty of places to eat dance and past the time up and down the slopes.
Just the lift pass of 55leva which is still steep for anyone which is visiting a ski resort with 58km of runs having to pay through the roof and no discount for weekends.
This is the situ at the mo.
