I was in Borovets last week between 6th and 13th. Skiing was OK for intermediate and above but poor for beginners in my opinion.
Rila slopes were generally poor, however, if you take the main chair lift up then there's a good run from the top to bottom. It's really a red in places not blue as the map suggests.
Best skiing is up on the Gondola at 08:30 to miss the queues. Use the first drag lift until its queue gets too big then move over to the second drag lift. When you've finished ...

Other Rila slopes especially the green run has little snow and icy in places.
