Borovets snowboarding lessons

Hi there, we are off to Borovets soon, staying in the Samokov. I want to take some lessons but don't want to book through Neilson - too expensive in comparison to other operators. Any recommended snowboarding schools I can get in touch with?

Is there any truth in prices for lessons/equipment hire being twice as expensive in the resort as they are if you book in the UK before you go?

Is there any truth in prices for lessons/equipment hire being twice as expensive in the resort as they are if you book in the UK before you go?

Also, I have read a number of stories about the chaos when collecting your equipment and awaiting instructors on the first day. As I am going to be on my own for the lessons - partner is experienced snowboarder - does anyone have hints or tips to make my life easier?

Many thanks

Contact Borosport direct - http://www.borovets-bg.com

Look under the Winter section and it will have details for the ski / board school. They'll sort it out for you at a good price too.

When are you off?

Thanks for that - will check the site out this afternoon.

We are going on the 19th. First time - though taken a couple of lessons at the real snow slope in Milton Keynes. Excited but nervous especially about the drag lifts - which I understand are difficult to master when you are on a snowboard!

Many thanks Ellie - that does help. With the contact from Judith also, it gives me a couple of options.

you definately need to forget all the others and go to albena ski school, its bang opposite the samakov. the manager, valentino is a really nice genuine man and charged us £95.00 last week for passes, kit and lessons if you wanted them, it was actually cheaper to pay for the pack than to leave out the lessons, tell him paul wilson( with the broken arm ) sent you. I've boarded all over europe and you can have confidence in this advice. p.s. buy a board and boots out there for £200.00 the ...
