Borovets the future

There are plans afoot in Borovets to improve the lift system and the runs, but it must be borne in mind that the instigator of these plans was the guy who was shot in sophia last year. The company that owns Borosport and the Rila has been in some turmoil since and local opinion is that its a bit of a pipe dream at the moment. I ran into a Banker from Sophia last week who seemed to think that it was highly unlikely as the company itself was not ,how can i put it, very healthy. The proposed developments wil cost in excess of 30 million euros, and would transform the resort greatly, but there aint a lot of cash sloshing around there at the moment. To add to these woes another local 'entrepeneur' was shot in amsterdam couple of months ago and he was not only building that new hotel the st something or other, up past the rila looks like a fairy princess hotel, but his buisnesses are all on hold as the government investigates his finances, and his company had many fingers in many pies. Overall we keep our fingers crossed but dont get too excited just yet.
ps dont consider buying any property in this area at the moment, big problems over the land

This could also involve the taking backother land that has been developed including the new chalets. Apparently the forestry comm does not have the ...

This could also involve the taking backother land that has been developed including the new chalets. Apparently the forestry comm does not have the right to sell the freehold!!!! I dont know how this applies to other resorts, as in the old village there is freehold property available but they arent daft the prices are getting high, but i still think will be a good investment, there is just the odd doubt about security of tenure. Role on the eu count down (prob 2009) hop this helps

Thanks guys,

Looks like I will need to investigate a little more on the Pamp side of things. Appreciate your help though - would be a nightmare if everything was torn down, imagine the time it will take to get it back in order.....

Hi Fraser & Sarah

I found details of the Borosport plans and posted details yesterday - all looks very interesting but will as you say cost a mint so we won't hold our breath just yet.

The new fairy princess hotel which looks stunning in the photos is, I understan, St Constantines.

Only 3 sleeps now Razz
