Just a word of warning - just got back from Boro, travelling with Thomsons. Picked up hired equipment from the Rila 2 depot and couldn't help but notice that compared with the other depots, being used by the other tour operators - the standard of equipment was crap. Very old fashioned skis, boots that left blisters everywhere due mainly to the cuffs being worn through. If you stand your ground, they will change it for better - but don't expect a smile

On a lighter note, we had a fabulous time once again thanks to Nik our instructor and the guys in the group - Kate, Rianne, Chantelle, Gareth & Gary (not forgetting Charlotte & Chelsea) who made it such fun. We made more progress than I had hoped for. As I read on a previous post, £300 spends for the week will see you living like a king!
You won't get a smile out of any of the Rila Depot workers so don't feel hard done by
It was my challenge the first year we went to see how hard I had to try to get even the flicker of the lips! After about day 3 they saw me coming in through the doors and all lined up looking grumpier than ever. I think I managed to crack one of them on the last day - I'm sure I saw a twitch of a tash
