Borovets.....worth buying ski boots there?

Hi everyone, really love this site and especially Kas the ever reliable weather girl! I'm off to Borovets on the 23rd with the other half.
Just wondering what the ski shops are like as I'm desperare to get my own ski boots at some point. Thought they maybe more reasonable with the lev!?

Cheers

see many many posts on this question, personally i would say dont, get anyhting else but not boots. Get thoses fitted properly here, and price wise its very competitve in snow and rock and Ellis Brighams at the moment (and a lot of other shops just those are the two largest) Booze

I got my boots in Boro last year, a pair of Solomons, they were heat moulded to my feet and are soooo comfortable! Got them from a shop just over the road from the Eagle Star (I think thats the one) and got a really good deal on them!

I brought my own boots in Borovets years ago and saved about £100 on the UK price. It was years ago so you wont save as much with todays prices but still worth a look and Its much better than having to put up with the rubbish hire boots.

can you accuratly measure your own feet to see what size boot is best for you? Bit of a piss take to go into somewhere like snow and rock and have feet measured with no intention to buy.

I was in Boro on the 2nd to the 9th of Jan this year and I looked at boot prices and could get them here cheaper 1 because of the exchange rate and 2 because prices are higher in the resort.

If you would like to pay for me to carry your new boots bought in the U.K I will be very happy. ;-)

Hi Kelly,

I bought my boots from the Rossignol shop out here nearly 2 seasons ago. I have plates and a pin in my ankle and have never found comfortable boots, but these are brilliant 'soft boots'- they were also extremely cheap.... But... I also agree with the posts above as well - it may be worth getting them in the UK now due to all the bargains around.
