Borovets

Trying to decide on which hotel to book Breza Hotel or Samokov Hotel. i know they are massively different in size. the party will consist of 4 adults over 40, 3 x early 20's and 1 x 5 yr old. the breza hotel appeals to me as its small but i think possibly the samokov for the younger ones lol
thanks

re: Borovets

Depends what your criteria is Lisa. They are within walking distance of each other. If it's price then you will probably go to the Breza, if you want to swim in a cold swimming pool, bowl in a small bowling alley (more like skittles) and shoot air pistols then book the Samokov. The large bar and reception area in the Samokov can be and is used used by many who are not residents. I have stayed in the Samokov but not the Breza. It's ok but want do you want from your hotel? Most of the evening ...

Most of the evening action will not take place in the hotel

re: Borovets

Have stayed at both and would agree with what emjay says. The only thing food in Bulgarian hotels is limited and my experience is that the Samokov has more choice. We are staying at the samokov this year. What week are you going.

Enjoy yourself. Were all going 26th Jan. If its like it was last year when we went 28th Jan it will be a crazy week.Looks like there may be between 80-100 of us all going so that we meet up like we did last year. All levels ages and we even speak to boarders.

re: Borovets

In my experience you have to get down early be it breakfast or dinner to make sure that you get the best, warmest choice. That said, I was not overly impressed by the food in the Samokov and have subsequently found other hotels serve better grub. In my opinion. The get in there first rule applies to all however

Hi Lisa, I stayed in Samokov last year and it is clean and warm. Food was always decent, better than most of the other hotels I've stayed st in borovets over the years. For a really good experience, pay £12 / head and eat in the top floor restaraunt and have an amazing 3 course a la carte meal with amazing service whilst watching the night skiing on the floodlit slopes. A very nice evening even though you have to pay a little more. The pool was cold but never too busy and the bowling small ...

It is what you make it, and there is so much to do in Boro you'll never be bored! As you'll have gathered from the forum already!!! Kelvin.

Whole heartedly agree with EMJAY & Kel500 on this one Lisa. Samokov is central to all facilities and stone throw to the Gondola. Heading out Jan 26th this season hope we have great snow conditions again.

S.P. Cheers
