Borovets

Flying of to Borovets on Sat 28th. I believe that we arrive at the Hotel Olymp at 10.00 pm and Ski school starts on Sunday morning at 10.00 - Does anyone know if this is correct or will it start Monday ? Also if it does start at 10.00 does that give you time to get your skis and boots ?

BTW- We paid £90 in advance for Ski school, lift pass and ski and boot hire - Bargain I think !

We are a mixed party of intermediates and advanced skiers and look forwards to maybe catching up with some ...

PS - We are taking our money ready changed, anyone like to speculate how much in sterling we need for a week of drinking and a few meals out per perspn. We are 1/2 board so we will (hopefully) not need to eat out too much.

re: Borovets

Ski school starts on Sunday. You will probably have a meeting with your Rep and there is no real time for start or finish - usually between 9.30/10am. Ski 2 hours and stop about 1 hour for lunch before a further 2 hours in the afternoon. All very flexible. Sunday morning is very chaotic and you will get an instructor even if you don't turn up until later so don't panic.

re: Borovets

Thanks Ellie

I heard (doing a search on here) that if you are staying at the Olymp you need to take a 15 minutes bus ride to the slopes, is that true ? The Crystal brouchure says skiing virtualy to the front door....

Also, does anyone know if the food at the Olymp is a crap as I think it is going to be....

re: Borovets

15 mins seems a bit steep. Slope on doorstep so if you're clever - unlike me!! you could ski into the village.

Russell or Mum are the people you need to ask they have just come back from staying at the Olymp.

re: Borovets

Borovets is amazing but a really really bad move changing money the pound sterling rate is the best out there you get so much for your money it was about 2.470 which is excellent. You'll love it!!! Ski school starts on sunday and if your with neilson they'll take you down early so you have enough time in the ski depoot but beware Chris dont drink to much ski school tends to meet early!!! Go to franco's and tell Tommy Mcgreedy at the bar you got recommended by his friend from England 2 weeks ...

re: Borovets

Thanks Gina

We are getting a rate of 2.91 from T Cook in the UK which seems better than 2.470 in resort.
