Borovets

Never been to Borovets b4, learnt to ski in Canada and I'm not sure what to expect in Bulgaria.
We'll be at Hotel Rila from 26th Dec - 2nd Jan, anyone else be there and what should we expect?

Well i went 2 times last year and am off on 5th feb and fingers crossed march,
it is very basic, room not so good but u will have funnnnnnn as the late nights are
brill

Don't expect anything like Canada on slopes.

HOWEVER, you'll definately have a better apres ski!!!!!!!

Food dodgy by US standards, queues disorganised, (haven't been to Boro for some time, but toilet facilities on slopes when I last went were undescribable - probably/hopefully changed since then), staying at Hotel Rila u can ski right to door, snow willing, instruction good.

Have great time.

Good news : the toilets on the slopes are perfectly CLEAN !

And if it s not enough, you still have the beautiful nature !
No word can describe this lonely moment in front of a wonderful white landscape

Toilets on slopes "clean", not last time I ventured into one! (Wooden shack, hole in ground!) Either make yellow snow or wait till you go to a bar or hotel.

Don't expect too much in comparing with Canada for the skiing, BUT you WILL have a great time there.

About to book my 3rd visit and I am also going to Whistler this season....

best of both worlds!

Stayed at the Rila hotel 2 years ago. It had just been re- furbished and it is really very good.
The food is great . Good choice of meats , fish and veg. Breakfasts are oustanding and the facilities are also very good. There is a great pool and gym. The location is fantastic, with the lifts just outside. You`ll have a great time
