re: Borovets

You need to book before you ago especially if you don't have lift passes. If you are only after equipment then you can find somewhere there but do not go pass free.

Either go back to your tour operator or contact The Albena Ski School.

Ring Val (male) on 00359 4877 6277. Remember time difference of 2 hours and speak slowly as there is a slight delay. We've used him for skiing but I'm sure he can help re: boarding too.

Hope this helps.

we have already booked 2 passes but need another 2! we were told the rep would be able to sort this out on the transfer to the resort.. is this not the case?

re: Borovets

There is a cafe opposite the Samokov called White Magic. The guy who owns it (Christo) is an ex Bulgarian ski racer and is a really decent guy. He gives private lessons for individuals or groups for skiing and snowboarding (a private lesson costs about 60lev for 2 hours for an individual). His daughter is in the current ladies ski team, and she also works in the bar. He also arranges skidoos at a cheaper price than the tour companies.

re: Borovets

The reps and indeed Borosport usually charge a lot more in resort for the ski pass - it usually equates to the same as a whole package pre booked in UK. You can usually sort out equipment and lessons for similar if not cheaper prices in resort.

You have been warned about the passes. The Albena Ski School is a side road off the high street, opposite the ice rink and next to a medical centre.

Hope this helps
