Borro Report

We are back from our trip to Borro (22-29th Jan). Had a very good week which included meeting various names from the forum including Kas "the freezer bag" and Bobby, Snow Plough, Dbut, Manc Tom and Benn to name a few.

As very Everett skiers we had a wonderful time with pleny of challenging slopes and really excellent instrustrion from our Samakov ski instructor. We met some good company along the way from our hotel and ski class. We stayed at the Samakov which we prefered slightly to the Rila - the food was a talking point if not the most tasty! The room was was clean and we had virtually no dealings with any of the staff.

As is well documented by many in the forum there are plenty of great places to eat out - we really liked the Elite Bar,which is on the road to the gondola and the White House up the top of the mountain is clearly better than the more used Bonkers etc. which are part of the Borosports monopoly.

Although the missus is a bit of light weight I managed to drink more than my weight in local beer and spirits and we came home with change from £300 spending money and the package from Crystal meant we only paid a little less than £1000 for the week. That has to be the best value for money for any ski holiday!

Borrovets might not be the classiest of ski destinations but is certainly very lively and from our experience a ski destination that lots of lovely people use. If Benn could have stayed on his feet for more than 2 days it would have probably been even better!!!

re: Borro Report

Bloody auto correct.......meant average skiers, not Everett skiers, although I could have done with big "brotherly love gloves" and my skies were often all over the place just like-" in the best possible taste!!!!". RIP Kenny.
