Never been skiing before, going with the family - wife and 2 kids (12 and 7) flying out on 12/2, staying at the Hotel Royal out of town, any top tips.

Hi Nigel, we are a family of 4, going out the 11th staying at the Rila (2 boys 8 & 7). I presume you have all booked 'learn to ski' packages through your travel company. Worst part, all fighting to get skis/boots the 1st day and being put in classes. From then on, brilliant fun, falling over etc!! Slight clarification on whether your 7yr old can go into main ski school, the operators will try and get him to go through the kindergarden ski school. But looking at this website, if you ...

But looking at this website, if you insist you ski together, (or just the kids together), shouldn't be a problem but may have to book the lift pass/ski school in the resort. If anyone can confirm the situation with 7 yrs old, greatly appreciated. We are staying at the Rila? Any other families going on the 11th/12th?

Yvette, cheers for the info my pair are girls and the 7 year old is booked in the learn to ski package and pre paid, in our book it says the kindergarten lessons are paid locally so I assume she will be in the same lessons as us, if not the same class. It also says she gets a free lift pass with the pre paid lessons - think I'll take the book with me!Nigel

Hi,We are two families, dept B'ham on the 11th Feb staying at the Rila. We are all first timers too, the childrens ages ranging from 9yrs to 12yrs.
A bit apprehensive, but soaking up all the tips and advice on this site and now really getting excited.
