Just got back from a week break in Borovets!
Cannot get my head around the differences between BG and the UK.
Without spending ages on all of my observations (my wife is warming up some stones on the hob to give me a hot stone massage) and I don't want to miss it.
just got back home after a bit of a journey after Sofia airport was closed ECT ECT.
My main observation is that the Bulgarian people really tried to pull together to make sure that the 1mtr or so of snow last night did ...

My main observation is that the Bulgarian people really tried to pull together to make sure that the 1mtr or so of snow last night did not stop them from getting on with business today.
We needed to get to the airport today for our 1.25 flight and did not have any worries with the transfer from Borovets. As we made our way through Samakov we saw many many locals out clearing snow in what looked like teams in the town. I commented that you would never see this in the UK, which is why 10mm of snow probably closes the whole of the UK - its embarrassing!.
Fair play to Bulgaria!
it was scary when we had to wait while our plane was sprayed by what looked like fire engines with de icer b4 take off, but I cannot imagine anything being allowed out of any UK airport in the same conditions and we made it back without a hitch.
Will try to post some pics and a video if I can on this forum - after my massage that my wife wants to give me that she wants to share with me after the hot stone one she had in the Samakov
