You won't find anything that you can get in Borovets over here, unless I'm very much mistaken. The reds over there tend to be local and better than the Bulgarian experience we get presented with at Tesco's!! I'm a Cab Sav man myself and am never disapointed when I'm at Boro. On your way back from Borovets stop into the local shop in Samakov where you can pick up some great wines at local prices.
Go to the Rozensky monastery, theres a woman there who is about 212 years old sitting in the snow next to the roadside in a little shed thing, and sells what looks like fermented roadkill in a bottle...£4 for two x 2litre bottles. And yes its fast acting and not at all classy!!! But to be fair, it keeps her in woolly socks!
Hey Fiona great tip from Greg, buy the wine in Samokov there you get a better quality, bigger choice and lower prices.
A smoother but dry red is the Oravinifera From Jambol a Cabernet Sauvignon, or the reds from Slaviantzi. Nice white one are the Chardonnay from Preslav or Pomorie the Golden Riton. Best point to buy wine in Borovez is the Bonjour Market in the Gondola station, and the two small super markets the Bor 100m down the Mura and Jimmy at the Main road to Samokov near the post ...

Many thanks for your comments, have just bought a bottle of 'Blue Ridge' in Morrisons for £2.99. Interesting to know about the Chardonnay as I thought I may have to stick to Red. I usually go for South African or South East Australian. However, the tasting is about to start - hic hic
