Bus transfer in 1999

I think it was 1999, we were heading down the mountain in our coach, very late at night, when we were overtaken by a car that flagged us down.
There were some long discussions with our bus driver, the rep, and the car driver.
Then the rep got back on and said.............
Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately we need to turn around, as one of the luggage compartments has come adrift and we have dropped some suitcases on the road
It was a scream, picking up cases every few ...
