Hi all,
returning on the 26th for my second year in Pamporovo - going to Prespa (any advice???). Does anyone have prices and tips on buying boots in or near the resort. I'm between a UK size 5 and 6 and my boyfriend is an 11-12.
Firstly if you intend buying boots - buy them early in your holiday. Many wait until the last day to buy them, then have to wait a year before they can use them.
My advice would be to buy them in the evening after your first days skiing. By then you should have found your ski legs so you will not be a quite so nervous the second day.
Take time to choose and don't just buy the pair that look best. Make sure you have your ski socks on when you try them out. Do them up and walk around for ...

Barter, not stupidly but make sure you get them at a good price. If possible get your instructor to come with you or ask their advice where to go.
I bought my Lange in Bulgaria and have skied hard in them for over 10 years now and they are like slippers.
The shops you mention are as good as anywhere in Pamporovo. I bought mine at Jordans which is close to Daks and they cost me about £70 but that was several years ago.
Don't let price cloud your judgement if possible. Like most things, the best will cost a little more. If you can afford them and they are right for you then go for it - you'll never regret it.
