I am off to Borovets at the end of January, returning after having such a good time last year. I now want to buy my own boots and wonder how much cheaper they maybe in the resort as oppossed to buying here in Scotland. If the saving is marginal, I will buy here, if huge I may wait. Any advise anyone?
I had to buy my boots over here as they were the only ones I could find to fit, but Bob bought his out there and got a better boot for UK prices. If you plan to go again, or don't mind hiring, I would recommend that you just have a look around to see whats available and then decide.
What sort of boots JimmyD. Ski or snowboard. The ski retail industry has changed in the last 2-5 years. The UK used to be expensive but is now one of the cheapest places in the EU to buy ski gear. The best prices are to be had at the end of the season but you might still be able to get some good deals around. Most important thing is to get in some shops, get some advice by a trained boot fitter (this is a highly skilled job) and try loads on. There are many good shops in Scotland.

Try Decathlon....I bought a reasonable pair of Salomon Performa boots for £59 yesterday....and they had cheaper boots too! I wished that I had never gone there... We only went to buy my daughter some roll neck tops for skiing but came away with 2 pairs of boots 'cos they were so cheap! It only means that our kids will get less presents for Xmas!
