Buying a snowboard

I'm going to Borovets at the end of Feb and I've heard it is silly cheap to buy a snowboard out there. Does anyone know if this is true?

re: Buying a snowboard

I rekon you are better off here getting what you want. You may save some money but it won't be loads on a real decent board. You can always go up to Milton Keynes and use the demo boards from snowboard asylum to find out the one you like/need... Best know what you want or need before going ahead and buying a good one that may be cheap as it may not suit your style..

re: Buying a snowboard in Bulgaria

Boards in Bulgaria........mmmmmmmmm, well ive been twice and well, the snow aint that deep (especially at the moment) and the snow plow people tend to think its a drive out for the family, of an evening, instead of getting the edge snow back on the run: meaning, theres usually lots of small rocks and if you buy a board it will be groved in no time. Other than that, they are cheap. Id recommend Decathlon in UK for a cheap board (the only problem being, theres only a few shops in UK) the whole ...

No-name brand but if your taking it to Bulgaria.......who cares!

re: Buying a snowboard

How long have you been boarding? My advice is if you haven't been doing the sport to long then hire a board untill you decide you like it then buy a good quality beginners board you can get some half decent packages with binding thrown in.

re: Buying a snowboard

i have a forum destroyer got it last year from amazon.com not .uk you will have to look around to see if they post to uk and you will have to pay import tax but it still works out cheaper than the uk overall cost for the board was £110, got new bindings in Bansko saved a little compaired with uk but wished i got them at the same time as i got my board.

re: Buying a snowboard

Thanks for all the info

I might just buy the boots out there for now, I think it will be an idea to go and give a few boards a test before I buy one.
