We returned on the 10th from a weeks drinking (sorry boarding) and heres what me and l'bateson think
BEER
cheap as hell around 50p a go, and good quality.
curly scored 16 bottles for around 7 quid in the buzz bar
FOOD
don't bother if you veggie you'll starve or eat snow all week. We had a full spit roasted pig for around 50 quid that did 7 of us very well.
nothing exotic though must be one of the few places where you can come down a black run and grab a kebab at the bottom ...

ACCOMADATION
we stayed at the yagoda village which is about 70 miles away from the resort (or at least it felt like that) taxis are 10 lev. thats the flat price to go anywhere it seems.
chalets were cool though we had some walkie talkies nicked out of ours, a point to remember that this part of the world is where pikeys hail from. BE WARNED
RESORT
what do you expect its eastern europe, 20 years ago they ate the sick and elderly.
looks nice not really for boarding more suited to skiers, balkan holidays smoke pole and should be shut down.
don't bother with the strip joints as one of the lads found out, there overpriced and the birds have BO and green teeth (unless your into that sort of thing) the americans do this well, bulgaria doesn't.
as for the fake stuff, get over now as once they join the EU it will go.
a good trick with the bar owners is tell them you'll come in on the day after your going eg: saturday. that shuts them up.
remember the average wage is less than a uk household spends on bog-roll so try to avoid bitch slapping locals.
you may of course punch as many ski instructors as you like, as just like most place they are lifes failures who only do the job to score with middle-aged women and avoid working in coal mines.
DOGS
like the bulk of that part of the continent there are stray dogs everywhere, most places shoot them, but i guess that makes a mess in the snow. just keep out of their way (they have a habit of running across the lower slopes)
OVERALL
fags were cheap, so was the beer, runs were ok but tend to be bollox once they get icy. no one died from the food, so that was ok too.
if you think of it as more of an adventure than a holiday you'll enjoy it more!
