CREDIT CARD SCAM

Just had friends come back from Boro to find out that someone had been attemting to use their credit card on the NetThey never use their visa card and only used it to pay for a deposit for skis 2 months ago .
The only useage was when they were in Boro and so the bank couldnt contact them
Clearly been used by a member of staff
Im not going to name the company yet as its only fair to give them a chance to respond to my friends email
Has anybody else had a simalar experience

i find this so wrong did they manage to buy anything ?i have a visa verification on all my cards you need a 3 digit password to complete transaction its awfull now isnt it,hope it hasnt put them of borovets as i find it a great place.

yeah has put them off but luckily the bank wouldnt authorise the transactions

Common problem in Bulgaria.had few years back when I was arriving from Greeceand straight into Sofia the car got robbed (4 hts after enteredBG from Greece)
Straight away got to the fone to cancel bank cards etc.
Thought this is it.
But no.
Few days later from Bank received a call that I have purchased 2thousand pounds worth of shopping from various places in Sofia but the day before.
Only when I show them that I have entered Bulgaria with my vehicle on the day after this fake shipping ...

Since then Taking only cash,use always safe deposits and look behind my back because always something is lurking behind the corner and somebody is ready to make some bucks.

i had an attempt to use my card at New Year- i was in Scotland and someone tried to purchase over a grands worth of stuff from Harrods! Company rang me and said this was unusual so blocked the transaction! Bloody right it was unusual- Asda maby but not that ammount!got a new card now!
Only unusual place i used the card was at a garage near Aviemore- company said it was probably an internet job??
Be safe and only use on secure sites!
