Hi. Can anyone confirm whether or not there will be any big downhill events in Bansko February/ March in 2010?
We were there in 2008 when some of the runs were closed to prepare for a mens event in March, and last year were there in February when more runs and lifts were closed for a ladies event. Added to the closures was the complete nightmare of queuing for the gondola at the week-end. Even though we were early risers and avoided queuing too long for the gondola, once we got to the top ...

Hi. Can anyone confirm whether or not there will be any big downhill events in Bansko February/ March in 2010?
We were there in 2008 when some of the runs were closed to prepare for a mens event in March, and last year were there in February when more runs and lifts were closed for a ladies event. Added to the closures was the complete nightmare of queuing for the gondola at the week-end. Even though we were early risers and avoided queuing too long for the gondola, once we got to the top the queues were equally bad for the one chair lift open, and we didnt dare go back down to the top gondola station for fear of having to queue all over again for the chair lift!
According to the Bansko Royal Towers web site they are advertising the FIS Womens Downhill 25th Feb to 1st March, although the schedule of events all have 2009 dates.
This year we want to avoid any events at all costs!
