I think its good advice to prebook yourself into a drying out clinic for when you come back from your holiday..........My liver was pickled. Also get a prescription for anti-depressants, boy did I have the holiday blues when I came home!!! I booked another holiday as soon as I can back, that helped.
best advice I've got is to not stop drinking...ever. Plug yourself into an alcohol drip when you go to bed or get your friendly GP to do this on his night visit (NB he may charge for this service these days as the NHS is a bit strapped for cash apparently)
