Carver ski's

Bought some new ski's in Bansko. Really got on well with them. However, on returning home, someone asked me whether they were carver ski's. Naturally I stood tall, pushed my shoulder back and replied yes.

Now can anyone tell me what the hell carver ski's are and how I can tell whether mine are and whether they are any good for me!!!

Cheers

re: Carver ski's

Carvers are much wider chris, especially at the tips. They usually say on the skis that they are carvers, so have a read.

Cheers Pete - Mine are pretty wide. Presume the width makes them good for beginners/intermediates/anyone who does more turns than paralels?

Hi

if there new skis, then they are carvers. Basically they are wider at the tips and tail than they are in the middle. What skis are they?

re: Carver ski's

Carvers were designed to cope with the changes in Alpine Skiing conditions.

With snow much deeper than in the past, not only skis, but skiing tecniques have also changed. Whereas once we were all taught to try and ski with legs together, instructors now teach pupils to ski with legs apart and carvers have made that much easier.
