also if you are travelling with Balkan Holidays, you will find that the arrival airport is now Polodiv and not Sofia - not too sure if you are travelling with Nielsen, the only otherUk tour operator to bansko
I know there is a cash machine at the bottom of the gondola 'cos I saw people using it. I'm sure there will be more in town. I must admit that I just took cash and had no problems changing it in the hotel. Just make sure that the notes do not have any writing on them and are fairly new (not torn and tatty).
We're travelling with Balkan from Gatwick, not heard anything from them about change of arrival airport to Plovdiv, although they have changed our departure time to 16.30.
How far is Plovdiv airport from Bansko, closer than Sofia? I once spent about 5 hours at Plovdiv airport - I was hoping I'd never have to go there again!
We've recently returned from a stay in the Pirin Hotel in Bansko. Right next door to the Pirin hotel there is a bank with a cash till. You can withdraw up to 400 Lev per day. The hotel also offers an echange facility for your pound notes.
Enjoy your stay
Plovdiv is 30 minutes further away. We are travelling with Balkan from Manchester lack of numbers for the Manchester to Sofia flight leaving the UK at GMT 10:20am - so the resort should not be over packed when we are there
