what will give me the best exchange rate? last year in boro i took cash (stirling) and changed at the cash booths, or will i be better of using my cash card and withdrawing money from atm ?, but the bank does charge a small amount for me to do this .
I always found that you got a better rate taking from an ATM. It's a flat fee per transaction (with my bank anyway) so take out a couple of days worth at a time rather than a few quid here and there and you should save a wee bit.
A lot of banks have an account whereby you pay a fee every month and get certain benefits ... I'm with first direct and get things like free travel insurance for the family (inc. winter sports) and free ATM withdrawls, so might be worth looking into.
ATM every time Jim.
Convenient and has always worked out better even with the minimal flat withdrawal fee - I think I pay £2.50 and usually make a couple of withdrawals.

Used ATM on our previous visits, very comparable exchange rates to those you see advertised in resort for exchange. Ditto the comment on getting the max you can out each time, no point in getting £50-worth if you pay each time.
About 5 or 6 cash machines dotted around the resort if I remember, inside and outside the Rila, opposite the Flora, one at the Gondola...
