Just seen on the darkside site, that a company called Wizzair.com have released flights from London (Luton I think) to Sofia. This goes via Budapest, but I tried a little test for prices in the ski season. Pretty crap flight times (arrive at Sofia around 11pm-midnight I think) but to fly out 22nd Jan and return 30th, costs only £1.00 + taxes, think it worked out around £120 total for 2 people. Compared to the £170 each with BA last year this is a steal, but as I say, crap times.IMT

Interesting Mike but as you say crap times. With the 3 hour transfer to Bansko on top don't think I could handle that.

Yes they do indeed fly from my local Luton airport Mike, they have nice pink planes!! Great price but as you say really bad times, I checked out early March and the return from Sofia leaves @ 6am!!!! Of course if anyone needs a taxi to Luton then give me a call

I have done this one!! Flew from Stansted to budapest then to sofia!! A very long journey ontop of the drive to Bansko, all our group were tired for a few days of our holiday. We did get the flights really cheap though at £150 but we payed £40 on top of that each to travel to Stansted. Al in all it took us about a whole day!!From 4 in the morning getting at Bansko at around 10 of the night time. Could of flown to Aus, but it was worth it only next time i think we have all decided to get a ...
