Hi, does anyone have any tips for a cheaper package to Boro. This year cost around 1800. Stayed at the Rila but spent a packet eating out all the time. Looked at a chalet on Ebay for 600 for 12 people. Is it worth doing this? Does anyone know how much flights are and transfers etc. Cheers Julie
Transfers will be pretty reasonable, but flights it depends. If you get in early enough and book Wizz, they can be as little as 50 quid all in. Otherwise you're looking at perhaps 200 per person. So 1800 for 12 people is pretty unbeatable.
Firstly, i guess there were not 12 of you staying this year, as that equates to £150 per head. Secondly a chalet for £600 for 12 will be miles and miles away from the resort, typically a catered chalet in resort will be £2000-2500 for 12 people. Flights with BA at the moment for most dates are £152 return from Heathrow to sofia, transfers will be around £25 per head return.
Have you looked at the Yagoda village, we have 2 adults and 2 children all with lessons, ski/boot hire and passes for under £1400 (for week 10/3/07) including Breakfast, our challet also has its own Sauna. Its self catering but most eat out anyway, its a 4min bus ride into town which is free of charge and the bus runs every 20mins (1 hour later in the night and during the day). We went last year and could not fault the challet so booked again, there is a restaraunt on site which does great ...

The best thing is thats its in the middle of a pine wood, so its very very quiet at night, no slamming of door, no noisy neighbours keeping you awake with their nightime activities, great night sleeps refreshed for the morning skiing. Good luck on where you book, I would camp out on the slopes if I could get it cheaper, then again I am a yorkshireman
Stay in a chalet and hire a van if you are a little out of the resort.
Get a flight from Wizz air for about £40 each way if you live in the South.
From the North of UK try Thomas Cook from Manchester around £100 return with free ski carriage.
7 of us did this for new year and whole thing cost about £200 each for a week in Borovets.
Also eat in Samokov town, half the price of Borovets, restaurants are brilliant in Samokov town.
If you have the bottle to try it you will never go back to ...
