Chepelare

Planning to go with party of 12 in late Feb, but nothing booked yet. A question for those in the know - PP? - if we stayed in Chepelare, can we ski there too, or do we have to go to Pamps everyday? Most of us are beginners and also not too bothered about wild nightlife (it's an age thing!). Cheers

re: Chepelare

We are also staying in Chepelare and I would like to know the same thing! Also how long does it take to drive to pp from Chep?

re: Chepelare

Chepelare is not really suited for beginners. You would be much better of in Pamporovo.

re: Chepelare

I have to agree with Daniel in that Chepelare is not really for beginners and I am not sure they run a ski school from there. I prefer Chepelare as a place. Its less of a rip off than Pamps as its mainly a Bulgarian resort. I think the restaurants are nicer and certainly a lot cheaper. The down side is that you would have to travel to Pamps every day to ski and the cost of that would probably out weigh any savings in Chepelare. You would do better to look at one of the more "out of the centre" hotels in Pamps - there's plenty of them.

re: Chepelare

We stayed in Chepelare at Xmas - it is nicer than Pamporovo - not at all developed. The hotel ran a bus into the ski centre. There was less snow in Chepelare though. I think it is slightly lower and the ski runs were not open then.
