Childcare Pamps

Hi. Been to Pamps a couple of times skiing a few years ago and coming again in Feb, got a six yr old who has enough ability to ski with us but a 4 yr old who we would like to find a kids club / kindergarten that will be able to entertain him with what 4 yr olds do best with snow, having lots of fun doing plenty without skis. Would be grateful if anyone's got any past experiences or ideas.

re: Childcare Pamps

I personally would book the full week of kindergarden (Very cheap through this website). Then top up with a couple of private lessons. True They don't progress much with their skiing in kindergarden, but it's where they have the most fun. (It's a holiday and kids are happiest when playing with other kids). You can take them out of kindergarden at anytime to ski with you or to go for a private lesson. I don't think we should put too much pressure on kids of this age to become expert skiiers!

Lol PP know what you mean that boy can go ........ he boards now too :-)

As for pressure Julie it depends on each child some are not ready or would hate being with a stranger all day ....... my son wasn't under pressure and had the time of his life learning to ski and has done ever since. He really loved having the 1-1 attention too and thrived on having his personal follower (after the first week they were really just there to pick him up and put him on the lifts )

I for one am ...

I for one am really pleased that we now have a shared pastime to enjoy together Very Happy Very Happy

re: Childcare Pamps

I agree with Julie there. It is cheap and full days of care is not much more than half days of care. Top up with one to one lessons, as you say, and the little ones progress so much faster.

It also very much depends on your child and their stamina. My son (like Dona's Logan) had great stamina and progressed quickly aged 5 or 6 and so kindergarten was not an option with him. My daughter at the same age, however, got cold and tired quickly (probably too many late nights in the bar with us) ...
