Hi we are first timers to Bulgaria also mostly first time skiers traveling from Manchester on the 20th Dec(only 13 sleeps) our flights have just been changed we are now flying into Plovdiv does anyone know how long the transfer is to the Rila in Borovets. Also do we need to change money before we get there.Any info would be great.
we are on the same flight from manchester having had our flight out changed from sofia to plovdiv. Our original flight tickets were incorrect & were only for the flight out so had to be reissued to for the return journey. Might be worth checking yours also . We are at the Samokov travelling with Balkan & like you our first skiing trip.
i think it is 2.5 to 3 hours for the transfer depending on the weather.you can change some money at the hotel or take a little bit with you from uk.but you will get a much better exchange rate at the banks in borovets .you will love it in borovets try the black tiger opposite the rila for a drink and a song ,
So the transfer time is min 2 hours, if the weater is nearby this today you need between 3 and 3,5 hours.
You need no money changig before, or only a small number the rates are here in Borvez much better as in GB or on the Airport. So change max 10 to 20 pounds.
