Christmas in Borovets

Hi we are first timers to Bulgaria also mostly first time skiers traveling from Manchester on the 20th Dec(only 13 sleeps) our flights have just been changed we are now flying into Plovdiv does anyone know how long the transfer is to the Rila in Borovets.Also do we need to change money before we get there.Any info would be great.

From plovdiv the transfer is a little longer than Sofia probably 2 and a half hours rather than 2. You can change money at Plovdiv but there will be a higher rate of exchange. Try and wait till you get to the hotel, theres nothing much to buy at Plovdiv there is a small refreshment kiosk with beer sweets cigs etc. The guy even excepted sterling from us last year.. No panic changing money look round try and use banks or the hotels street exchnges can be dodgy avoid them.

If your going with Crystal make sure you double check flight details seems to be much confusion with flight changes. Look for some past messages on this board for details...

Hi Andrew,

We are going with Balkan Holidays.We were flighing at 11am to Sofia now It's been changed to 10.30am to Plovdiv they say because of poor demand, so i would check your details to be safe.
