re: Cigs In Bulgaria

Hi Jak,

as Bulgaria is not part of EU (yet), I believe the UK regulations are that every adult is allowed to bring to the UK 200 cigarettes. Children under 17 or so don\'t have this allowance. Those said 10 packs of cigs (\'boro or the like) cost about 12-15 EUR at the airport. Bulgarian cigarettes cost about 40-60 eurocent a pack. See what you like best and enjoy.

regards,

Plamen

Beware of Fakes

Take note of the latest warnings of buying cigarettes in Eastern Europe.

From past experience I can assure you that the branded makes such as Bensons, Lambert & Butler, Super Kings etc. may 'look' authentic as the packaging is very good, but the cigarettes themselves are disgusting, and are not the real thing.

Whilst in Bulgaria, you are far better to buy the local brand of Victory and Victory Lights. They cost about 30p a packet and are far, far better than anything else you may see ...

Don't be fooled, being a smoker is bad enough, but these copies are revolting.

yeah, the "imported" cigs are rubbish, buy Victory's.
Duty free shop in Plovdiv often has nowt anyway, so get them in resort I think.
200 is officially your max.

re: Cigs In Bulgaria

200 is the limit however be careful if you decide to bring bag more than you are supposed to! I bought mine in the airport last year. but the year before some of the lads bough in pamp at customs in Bulgaria the 5 lads in question where searched and had half of the cigs taken off them. they had the rest taken away at Manchester airport.

Be careful
