Could somebody clarify what is included in the price for the kindergarten in Borovets?
Neilson are telling me that lift passes are only free up to 4yrs of age, and ski equipment is not included in the cost of the Kindergarten. i.e I need to pay an extra £58 each for lift pass plus equipment hire for a 5 yr old and a 7 yr old.

Hi All

I know other companies (e.g. balkan) say that ski equipment is included in the cost of the kindergarten and lift passes are included for up to age 7, if a full ski pack is booked.
On here I've read that ski passes are free anyway for kids up to 7.
Are Nielson trying to pull a fast one and charge for equipment and lift pass when these are either free anyway (pass) or included in the cost of the kindergarten (equipment).
Or, does each operator have a different agreement with the kindergarten (in which case why is it paid for directly in resort)
Hi don't have kids but those who were in our group last year who had kids in kintergarten said that all was included in the price they'd paid... often we'd see the little ones and their kintergarten instructors taking them on the nursery slope at the bottom of the mountain...
Hope this helps a little. I would call Neilson and tell them that other tour operators for about the same price has all included and see what they say.
We used the kindergarten at the Rila a couple of years ago. You pay at the kiosk next the the reception. Think they did daily, 3 days or weekly. The price included lunch and they have their own ski equipment within the kindergarten. They take the kids out to the nursery slopes and they do a bit of skiing, sledging and snow man building etc. They were really good as they let me collect my daughter early afternoon and borrow skis for the rest of the day so we could do some skiing ...
Hi Matt,
We used the kindergarten at the Rila a couple of years ago. You pay at the kiosk next the the reception. Think they did daily, 3 days or weekly. They take the kids out to the nursery slopes and they do a bit of skiing, sledging and snow man building etc. They were really good as they let me collect my daughter early afternoon and borrow skis for the rest of the day so we could do some skiing together.
Couldn't ever quite get to the bottom of the lift passes. I'm pretty sure that they don't just give them out for free for the little ones. My daughter just shuffled through in front of me to get onto the drag lifts and through the gondola station turnstiles. Most people are quite happy to let the kids push through in front of them.
My lad has been in kindergarten in borovets. They only ski for an hour a day and go through the turnstile with their instructer (one click of the turnstile) so pass not needed. As Rach said it will just be on the nursery slopes in front of the Rila and then a bit of sledging and snowman building.
It's always been Under 7's don't need passes for the reasons stated above. Both mine used the Inghams Kindergarten and neither needed passes. The second year we went they used the ski school and we didn't realise that our youngest didn't need a pass so bought one anyway.
I'd sort it out when you get there but reserve your place with Neilson before going if that's what they want you to do!
officially under 7 does not need a lift pass, however some tour operators charge forthis, because you dont know any better, if this happens, stand your ground and threaten to sue them, youll get your money back!!!
I've not paid Nielson for the equipment / lift passes cos I'd seen it mentioned on here before that passes were free for the under 7's. I wanted to check it out a bit more before paying for anything - so, I'll book the places but not pay up front for the gear and passes
