Had a good discussion last night with one of my college lecturers and he had just finished reading a journal report about climate change. This particular article claimed that ever since the start of the Industrial Revolution, there has been a deterioration in the start of the planet. Had a good discussion last night with one of my college lecturers and he had just finished reading a journal report about climate change. This particular article claimed that ever since the start of the Industrial Revolution, there has been a deterioration in the start of the planet. However, for many years the damage was limited due to the fact that nature could 'self-repair' - ie limit the size of the ozone layer gap etc.
THEN...in the last 30 years, we have reached and, subsequently, gone beyond the 'tipping point' which basically means that the level of damage per year is way beyond what can be self-repaired.
So, in esssence, serious amounts of damage began during the 70's only there wasn't the understanding and pressure to get to grips with it.
He showed me some figures that were 'trackings' of weather patterns including SNOW FALL for the last 30 years and it was incredible to see the global decrease decade upon decade!!!
Now, I'm not part of the climate change pressure lobby - I say 'live and let live'...BUT even I was gobsmacked at the trend>
yup. global warming/climate change/greenhouse effect discussed around the 1860's in scientific community because of the rapidity of the industrialisation process. Very interesting stuff.
(have very fond memories of social/economic history classes)
dont you think its just the natural way the world works? All this global warming does ma head in political leaders scientist! does know one think its just the way the world works and we might know be able to do anything apart from what nature always has and always will do.Adapt and evolve. just a thought!
