Conflict in Pamporovo

Sorry about the attention grabing headline but - we are getting conflicting snow reports about Pamps.Is there snow? Is there people skiing? At what levels?
Please can we have eye witness reports only!
We are there from 27th December 2003, should we start panicing yet?

It snowed at the beginning of the week, and there was a cover of 20cm.
The snow has now ceased, and it is currently sunny in Pamporovo and is set to stay the same until next week.
None of the lift are yet working, and conditions are not yet ready for the skiing to commence but snow is expected again next week.
No need to panic, the pattern is much as usual although last year the snow was exceptionally early. It is everyones hope that substantial snow will fall over the next ...

there is anotehr small ski resort nearby, Chepelare, this may or may not have better snow, I believe it not expensive in a taxi to get therere: Conflict in Pamporovo
I hope it comes at the start of next week as I am off there on saturday for xmas week, the only time of year I get to go with the missus beign a teacher, I'll be proper gutted if I can't do my snowboarding lessonsre: Conflict in Pamporovo
The Bulgarians are masters at keeping the roads free and busses will always manage to get you to the slopes no matter how much falls.
Chepalare is 10km away, but the snow is usually better in Pamps in the early weeks.
Chepalare is well worth a visit, we go there for at least 1 day every year, but it is more for the experienced skier. It boasts the longest black/red run in Bulgaria and is excellent for boarders and skiers alike. 2 new runs open this year and the plan is to link the 2 ...

Only 1 double lift at the mo which takes 20 minutes from bottom to top, but the views alone are worth the trip.
Will cost you a fiver by taxi to get there.

I'm in Pamporovo right now, installed the webcam today. There is snow in Pamporovo, there are some lifts working, but very few people on the piste, because it's still too early yet. First big groups of skiers and boarders are coming next week. The webcam is now operating, image to follow tomorrow.re: Conflict in Pamporovo
