Confusion! Snow Levels

After days and days of research, I'm stunned at the webcam pictures of Pamporovo, why is Bansko which is not near the altitude of Pamporovo or Borovets looking far more snowy than the melted slope shown on the Pamporovo webcam.
Is Bansko a snowier resort or is the Pamporovo webcam deceiving by it's location?
any help would be great.

Banso skiing doesnt really start until 1600m where the webcams are. Pamps/boro webcams are at the bottom slopes at around 1300m. This makes all the difference. Snow should be similar at 1600 in pamps and boro.

Dont trust the snow level reports this time of year. Ive just come back from borovets and the snow cover/conditions is nowhere near as good as what the report is saying. Theres at least 3 runs which are now unskiable. And some are ok, until you get 3/4 ot the way down. Yet the report says "all runs open!"

In boro the best skiing is from the top of the gondola to mid station. This should be fine over easter.
The rest of the runs down in the village are average and for noobs.

True to a certain extent, but these gondala runs are geting grassy down the bottom. And of course the other problem with skiing to mid station and back up, is that you simply spend more time going up, than you do skiing down!

Pamps is the sunniest resort so the snow will melt quicker, and also the webcam is at the bottom of all the runs, the actual grassy part you are looking at is not skied on - whereas the cam in Bansko is situated where they actually ski, so the snow is much more compressed in that area - you will find in Pamps up the mountain it would be a smilar pic to Bansko...

Garry, personally I wouldnt ski down to the bottom and wouldnt go near the Yastrebets chair.
What is a laugh is doing a timed run from the top of the marki area to the mid station. Take the steep red and the black and you will be glad of the rest in the gondola after a couple of runs

true again. I skiied with some very fast skiiers this year, And the rest on the gondala was nice.

Also this time of year the slopes are empty, so you can race down, confidident that no-one will get in your way. Because of the conditions, Slush and ice, most of the beginners stayed on the button lift blue run, no lines of snow ploughers snaking down in front of you!!

Just got back from pamps and snow was fine

A bit icy before 11 but not terrible - nice if you like it fast!. The photo is over the smallest nursery slope - the worst place to take the pic.

The slopes get a little slushy in the afternoon but gives us beginners a chance on the reds!
