Hi all...
Have read with interest the comments regarding BG in comparison to other Europeon resorts. Two friends have just returned from Kitzbuhal who were there for the downhill (subsequently cancelled). Consider this:
Entrance to the `London Inn' --- 25 euro each (normal bar)
Small beer --- 4 - 5 euro
Liquor (whisky, vodka etc) --- 6 - 8 euro
Basic meal in town --- 12 - 15 euro
Basic meal on mountain --- 15 - 20 euro
Entrance to nightclub --- 25 euro (includes drink, ...

Drink in nightclub (they decided against it!!)
The holiday including ski passes, hire etc with spending came in at over £2500,00.
They admit to having a fantastic time and the atmospere was great, i should bl**dy well think so for that money, it should be accepted that this is an exceptional week but it just confirms that all resorts are in the business of making money where they can...

Steve,This is not that exceptional for Austria. 2 friends of ours recently came back from Obergurghl and went through £2,000. They like a drink but are also keen skiers. They wanted us to go with them but we found that too expensive.
Bulgaria for me (even though I haven't been there yet!!!)

Hi Val..It seems it is the case, a load of my mates went to Soll in Jan on a late offer which seemed really good value, the majority ended up caning the credit card to keep partying !! They actually won`t admit to their actual spending as i advised them of what it was likely to cost (its a male thing) and declined their offer to go with them. They are already asking when my apartment will be ready in Bansko so they can go there...
Like you say Val BG for us.
